HYPERBLAM’s <saturator-blam> element offers various tempering and taming features for the different saturation/distortion modes it supports.
The highcut and lowcut props let you take out unwanted shrill and booming frequencies respectively. Combined with calibrating the wet and dry levels (available to all effects), you can sculpt all sorts of subtle—and not-so-subtle—crunches and squelches.
The fourth mode is notable because it produces a lot of different characteristics depending on the precise amount given. Some settings give a kind of under-biased “voltage starve” sound, making the distortion gated and spluttery.
This example is the first to use the <radios-blam> element, allowing users to assign a discrete value from a choice of standard radio buttons.
